Mission: No Barriers Adventure Week

210 individuals and 108 businesses, clubs, and service groups came together to host Mission: No Barriers. Volunteer hours totaled over  3200 during that week.  Click to see what was offered each day:           SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Many local veterans  joined 20 wounded warriors from across the country as the community of Montrose hosted Mission: No Barriers June 11-17.
This event was organized and coordinated by volunteers from Welcome Home Montrose, whose guiding vision is for Montrose to become a no barriers city on behalf of all veterans who visit, vacation, or live here, no matter their physical abilities.
Recreation activities included:

  • rafting,
  • fly fishing,
  • kayaking,
  • photography,
  • golf,
  • hiking,
  • metal detecting/treasure hunting,
  • horseback riding,
  • jeeping,
  • archery
  • Plein air painting,
  • music,
  • martial arts

We learned a lot about how we can improve the accessibility of our community and our recreation from these guests, while they experienced the natural beauty, clean air, adventure opportunities and opens arms support we have to offer here.
